Description:

This destination is a very good alternative to many other "touristy" places. The Krivoklat castle, itself, is a very exciting place to také tour of; its history reaches all the way back to the beginning of twelve century. It grew up gradually over the times, first as a hunting lodge, and later became occasional seat of several of the ruling dynasty members; curently it is still in quite well preserved shape.
It takes about 90 minutes to get there from Prague through very nice coutryside, such as nice wooded and hilly areas and pitoresque villages; mostly with very few tourists around (if any at all).
This trip takes about 6 hours and it can be combined with some other exciting places in this area such as Plasy Monastery. This extension would turn it into whole-day trip and slightly higher price, though. Ask or call if interested in this option.
If you wish to see the "real" Czech Republic, without overwhelming tourist groups, this is the place to go!

Itinerary:

Pick up at your hotel in Prague, driving SW of Prague through nice countryside untill reaching the Krivoklat Castle Village.
First possible, schedulled tour of its interiors (about one hour-long). Then you can have a lunch in a local village restaurant, if you wish. Afterwards, return back to Prague following a different route in order to see different places along the way.
Drop off at your hotel in Prague or some other place in Prague according to your wishes.
If you decide to extend the trip for the Plasy Monastery (including its tour), please, let me know and we can arrange for it.

Where and when:

Meeting location: Your hotel in Prague

End location: Your hotel in Prague or any other place within the downtown area of Prague.

Duration: 6 hours (without Plasy Monastery and Rakovnik option)

The castle interior tours are available every day except for Mondays during the main tourist season. The opening hours during the lower season differ; feel free to ask me for details before booking this tour. Generally, the castle is open to the public throughout the year, though.
